Great vacation!
Great vacation!! The beach is really steps away. I was very pleased that everything was there for us to use like laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towel, etc. Some homeaways we've stayed at only provided a certain amount and after that it's on you. Kitchen was well stocked. The bakery and market were a few blocks away. We brought our bikes and infant seat and went on family bike rides! If I could change anything about this stay it would be: 1. The dishwasher is small (but hey we barely had to do the dishes). 2. Not small child friendly. No gate for the steep stairs or fireplace, no plastic plates, cups, or utensils. We had to keep a very very close eye on our smallest. 3. The TVs in the master and upstairs bedroom did not work (or I wasn't doing something right to get them to work haha). That wasn't a huge deal because the main TV worked, and we were here for the beach! 4. I wish there was a hose or something to rinse off outside after we went to the beach. We tried our best, but with 2 kids and a hubby it was hard not to track sand inside. Overall, it was a really good vacation (minus the one day of rain). But we want to come back with extended family and stay in one of the larger cottages :) Thank you again for letting us use this lovely home!!

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:
Jacqueline, we love that you had a great vacation!  Grace Cottage is the perfect place to enjoy summer in Michigan.  Nothing beats being right on Lake Michigan with the great sunrises and sunsets.  Plus the beach!  We'd love to see you come back and stay with us again

Fantastic!
Perfect location, +/- 2 minute walk to feet in the sand. Clean beach with fine sand and not a lot of rocks/debris. Our beach days were not crowded at all so plenty of room to spread out. The house is lovely, just as described with clean, comfortable beds and everything we needed. The grill took a bit to get hot enough to really cook anything so maybe checking into a new grill would be my only suggestion. There is a little swing/playset next to the cottage which our kids really enjoyed. Quick responses to any questions we had. Wished we could have stayed longer and would DEFINITELY stay here again!! :). Milda’s market close by had good sandwiches, and a tasty cranberry orange scone.

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:
Meghan, it's heaven to stay a place right on Lake Michigan and Grace Cottage fits the bill.  We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay.  We will take care of the grill issue - thanks for the heads up.  We'd love to have you stay longer next time.

Charming Cottage
My sisters and I really enjoyed our stay! We enjoyed fires at night, the lake was beautiful and a short walk. St. Joe's is a short drive and cute little town. Would definitely come back! **my only criticism--you need a new microwave! I tried to melt some butter and after 2 minutes the stick was still rock hard! Thank you!

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:
Cathleen,  we are so happy to hear that you and your sisters enjoyed your stay at Grace Cottage.  Walking at the Lake Michigan beach can be so relaxing.  Thanks for letting us know about the microwave - we will get that taken care of.  We hope to work with you again soon!

Nice Place
Clean and comfortable cottage. Quality beds, pillows, and bedding. Fast internet. Well stocked kitchen. My only negative is the pine tree drips pitch in the parking area for this cottage. This may only be an early spring problem. (First week of April.) With all this said, I would stay again and recommend this cottage to a friend. My stay: 10 days at $66/day. Thanks.

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:
Matthew, thanks for the great review.  We love that you enjoyed Grace Cottage.  It's a sweet property with all the advantages that you listed, plus being right on Lake Michigan is fabulous! The pine tree issue is a spring thing.  We hope to work with you again soon.

I had a very nice stay. It was comfortable, and had everything I needed. I was disappointed I couldn’ t walk the dog on the beach, but we had some very nice walks. I especially liked all the trees and homes and resorts.

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:

Linda, we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at Union Pier Grace Cottage.  Although you could not walk your pup on the beach, it's always great to find a vacation spot that allows our dogs to join us.  We hope that you come back again!

GREAT GETAWAY COTTAGE
A small group of ladies from work rented this as our first ladies weekend getaway. We had a wonderful time. The Cottage was in a great location to the beach, to New Buffalo shops, and the casino. We had no complaints with the cleanliness of the cottage, everything was very clean and comfortable

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:

Weekend Getaway with Friends
We had 5 adults (2 couples and a single) and this was a great location! The directions on the email are perfect, kit the neighborhood is dark, so pay close attention if arriving after daylight! Lots of great restaurants near by! We had 2 minor issues and I received an immediate response from Kara handling both!!! The kitchen is small, but had the basic necessities for us to fix breakfast. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt the price was very fair!

Brittany, we are so happy to hear that Union Pier-Grace Cottage worked out so well for your group.  Getting away with friends is the best, and you can't beat being on Lake Michigan!  We hope to work with you again

Nice housekeeping cabin. We stayed two extra nights.
No view, but close to beach access. Cozy. Clean. Comfortable bed; we slept very well. The kitchen was functional, although mildly undersupplied with items such as soup or cereal bowls or non-serrated knives. Overall, it was fine for non-complex meals. The outdoor grill worked well. We enjoyed nice patio and deck.

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:
Janice, we're happy that you had an overall positive experience at Grace Cottage.  Being on Lake Michigan is such a treasure.  Thanks for the suggestions for additions to the kitchen.  We'll get right on that
