Great Stay in Northern Michigan
My wife and I were here celebrating our anniversary. We wanted a quiet lake cabin out of the hot and humid summer. The house was better in person than the photographs. We enjoyed a morning walk to the Harbor Lights Grille on the lake, we went to Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island and traveled to the U.P. for a day. Great location, and we enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable cabin on the lake
This cabin was well situated on Paradise Lake with lovely lake views and kayaking aplenty. The furniture and beds were comfortable, and the cabin was well stocked and supplied. We liked the location which was tranquil, but not far from some local shops and restaurants. The sunporch overlooking the lake was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a cocktail in the evening or breakfast in the morning. The only reason we did not get this property five stars is because the previous tenants must’ve been smokers, and there was a strong smell of smoke when we arrived. That said, it had dissipated by the time we left. This is not the fault of the owners of the cottage, but it did detract, at least for a time, from our enjoyment of this otherwise lovely cottage.

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Gilian! I sincerely apologize for the experience of smelling smoke and how that impacted the stay, as all of our properties are non-smoking, so we will be sure to have this addressed. It's wonderful to know that you found everything else with the home to be comfortable, tranquil, and nicely located for having a chance to explore the town and area without being directly in it. Hopefully we can host you again!

Great Cottage
This was our second time at Copper Water Cottage for snowmobiling. Great location and very quiet in the winter. The cottage is very cozy...we love the fireplace. A lot of extras there...kitchen items, blankets, a Blackstone. We love that the fur babies can be included as well. Communication with Freshwater is top notch. Highly recommend.

FVR RESPONSE:

It's so great to know your second stay was another good one, Erica! We are glad to know you could appreciate the calmness of the area in the winter, and found the home to be cozy and well supplied for your snowmobiling trip! Hopefully we will have a chance to host you and the fur babies again in the future!

Loons!!
Other than not having a way to clean our clothes, I wouldn’t change a thing. They had everything we needed and a stock pile of towels. I wish we could have stayed longer. I want a home on a lake someday in the near future. This home/lake/view makes me want to buy a home right here. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home. If I had to give one piece of constructive criticism, it would be to put a row boat down there with the kayaks too.

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you for sharing your review William! We are so happy to know that you not only enjoyed your stay, but that the experience left you wanting to dedicate more time, and a potential purchase in the area! Hopefully everything goes well with getting that lake house, and we will see what we might be able to do about that rowboat lol. Hopefully we have a chance to host you again!

Lovely Lake
Lovely, warm and inviting lake. The kayaks are delightful and so easy to cruise with all around the lake. We spend hours just sitting on the dock enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Thank you for all of the available firewood for fun camp fires. Would suggest upgraded carpets and including a washer and dryer.

FVR REPONSE
Erin, a great lake, kayaking and sitting on the dock all sounds like the makings for a great getaway.  We're glad that the property worked out so well for you and we appreciate your feedback.  We hope to see you back again.

Great cottage
Had a great time at Copper Water Cottage. Ample room for snowmobile trailers. Perfect location to trailer the sleds south or north or leave straight from the cottage to the trailhead. Cottage had multiple amenities that were appreciated. The fireplace is cozy. Great communication from the rental company. Was great for our winter getaway.

FVR RESPONSE:

Copper Water Cottage great location
Cute, cozy cottage. Everything as advertised. I wish the instructions mentioned the electronic device on the mantel for check in and info. Stumbled across the check in screen while looking at the device 2 days in. Not really 20 over the air tv stations. Only 3 or 4 stations viewable even on a clear day. We had an enjoyable week.

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you for sharing your review Mary! We are glad to know the property was able to live up to expectations, though it's unfortunately only a few stations were able to come through. We also appreciate the feedback regarding the YourWelcome tablet potentially being included in arrival instructions so it doesn't get missed! Hopefully we can have you back for a future stay!

Great Trip
The cottage was cute and clean. It looked as it was presented. Great views of the lake, plenty of space. The addition of a half bath would have made it perfect but we knew going in there was only 1 bathroom. Not a big deal. It worked out well for our group. Friendly service. Easy to figure out check-in and check-out. Made the weekend much less stressful with a good place to stay. We’ll be back!

FVR RESPONSE:

We're so delighted to know you had a great stay, Angela, and found everything to appear as expected. We truly do our best to make the experience as painless as possible for our guests, so it means a lot knowing that you found the process easy to maneuver! We would love to have you back!

Great week at Copper Water Cottage
Upon arrival to Copper Water Cottage we walked into a charming, clean updated and cozy cottage. It was tastefully decorated and had most everything needed to walk in and stay for the week. The attached porch with windows/screens was a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the view of the lake. Each of the bedrooms upstairs also has a beautiful view of the lake. Our adult family had so much fun enjoying the quiet lake with the beautiful view. We rented a pontoon boat for the day which was so much fun. We had a few day trips to Mackinac island, Wilderness state park and dinner at Leggs Inn. It was a memorable enjoyable treasured time with family in a great location with access to entertaining options.

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful review Caroline! It's great to know you and your family had a great stay at the cottage, got to take in the beautiful views of the lake, explore the nearby attractions, and even rent a pontoon for a day on the water! We are delighted to have been a part of creating memories for you all, and would love to have you back in the future!

Cozy cottage
The cottage was as advertised, it slept 4 adults and 1 large dog comfortable. It is situated on Lake Heron. Beds were comfortable. Cottage close to Mackinaw City and ferry transport to Mackinac Island. The only issue noted was the amount of fishing line left in the cottage from previous renters.

FVR RESPONSE
Ellen, I love that the cottage slept 4 humans and 1 large dog comfortably!  We apologize for the fishing line - that should not have been there.  We hope to work with you again.

Cozy rustic cabin
I stayed at the cabin with two of my children, my daughter in law, and 5 year old granddaughter. We loved it. It was so peaceful and the kids loved the kayaking! Everything was clean and organized and the service was excellent. I had contact with them the very first afternoon when we arrived over a minor concern and it was handled immediately and professionally. We grilled every evening and enjoyed the scenery and water. I wish the grill had been bigger and perhaps newer. It was hard to squeeze food for 4 adults and a child on the small grill, but we made it work. I also recommend that you bring your own knives, or the cabin perhaps will invest in a steel to sharpen the knives provided (hence the 4 star rating instead of 5). We literally had to use a bread knife to cut a tomato, but again, we made it work. We loved how close it was to town and the bridge! I really recommend this beautiful place and hope to return in a couple of years when my granddaughter is a little older, so we can explore the island and a few other places in the UP!

FVR RESPONSE
Pamela, we love that this was a multi-generational vacation and that you all had a great time!  We appreciate your recommendation and your suggestions for improvement.   We look forward to your return!
