The Lodge on the Manistee is a peaceful place to enjoy a family gathering or a gathering of fly-fisherman casting their poles off the dock. Adventure seekers, feel free to bring your kayaks or canoes in order to paddle up the river.

This 4-bedroom home sleeps 8 people comfortably. The common spaces for gathering are ideal for a large family or two families vacationing together. The fully equipped kitchen will suit your needs and the extended covered porch on the river-side of the home is a pleasant setting for a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine.

Escaped the heat
It was 107° when we left Texas, and this place was perfect for us to escape! Close to town and recreation i.e. kayaking and fishing. House is as advertised, and we would stay there again! Hosts are very responsive to messages or emails. Great place !!

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you for sharing your review Brantley! We're glad that we could get in touch with you in a timely manner, as well as glad to know you got a chance to get out of that intense heat, and take in some time on the river! We would love to have you back next time you're up in Michigan!

5 stars
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. We kayaked the river, spent a day at the dunes, and our teenager caught his first 15 inch trout fly fishing. Our day began and ended on the beautiful porch.

FVR RESPONSE
Jody, it sounds like you had a blast!  Catching the trout must have been trilling for your son.  You need to come back to catch some more plus to get in more porch sitting.

Finding Peace and Serenity in Northern Michigan
This was the best vacation me and my family has had in a long time. The accommodations were excellent. It was so peaceful and relaxing to just sit on the porch and observe the wild life. The only glitch in the whole week was trying to watch the tv. We couldn’t get it to stop freezing up or just dropping the signal. All in all it was a fabulous week and we thank you for allowing us to make some new memories. We hope to be able to come back again.

FVR RESPONSE:

Hi Lorena! First, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay regarding the tv signal, and have been working to get that improved. It truly is an honor to know that we were able to help out in providing your family with a great vacation, and peaceful stay to check out the area wildlife! Hopefully we get a chance to host you again

A+ Stay
A great place to stay with family & friends. If you're an outdoor enthusiast and you're looking for a great balance of remote and close to town, this is it. Beautiful cabin and lots of amenities. Grayling is our favorite place for fishing, craft beer, hiking, craft beer, kayaking, craft beer, great restaurants, craft beer, all things northern Michigan, and craft beer. We'll be booking this cabin again, but for more days.

FVR RESPONSE
Jason, so you like craft beer eh?  Gotta love it, and we're glad that Lodge on the Manistee allowed you to do all the things you love to do!  We look forward to your next getaway, and the craft beer awaits you!

Weekend Away
My friends and I had a great weekend away at the lodge on the Manistee. The house was very clean and had plenty of space for us. The deck was amazing and we ate all our meals out there. The only drawback of the house was the the rooms upstairs got VERY warm. The rooms on the main floor stayed pretty cool, but the upstairs rooms never really cooled off in the evenings. We enjoyed our days on the dock and got canoes to float down the river! Great place to getaway for the weekend!

FVR RESPONSE
Olivia, isn't it wonderful eating meals out on the deck!  It's just so relaxing.  We are glad that you had a  great time.  When you work with us again, if it gets really hot, call us and we'll get additional fans out to you.  We enjoyed having you as our guests and hope to work with you again.
