Spending time in a Marquette neighborhood just south of the Northern Michigan University and UP Health System- Marquette is easy from his launching pad in the central Upper Peninsula. This comfortable apartment is simple and easy.  New furniture lines the bedroom, living and dining rooms.  Your entry starts with ease as parking in the extra wide driveway attached to the home is convenient.  Walk just steps to the entryway stairs as you are just feet away from the entryway of this apartment. Enter the home into the living room. Continue through the living room into the dining area.  The kitchen is just a few steps through and has a convenient bistro table for two. The office is tucked off the kitchen, and the laundry room is adjacent.  The master bedroom and bathroom are just down the hall.  All you need for an easy stay in Marquette.  Ideal for the mid-term rental to host visiting professionals.

Boat Launch: Cinder Pond or Presque Isle marinas. Daily $6 (Available in the red launch boxes at Cinder Pond and Presque Isla Marina)/ Seasonal $70. (You can get your launch permit at the Lakeview Arena Parks and Recreation Office or the City of Marquette’s Treasurer’s Office.)

Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.

    Fishing: Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass and more.

    Fishing License:  A license is required in order to fish in Michigan.



    Fishing Poles: We do not provide fishing poles.

      • Handicap Friendly: No-- I'm sorry. This is an older home. I hope to make the renovations to be more accommodating one day.


         


        Heat: Forced air (Gas)- Thermostat for all 3 apartments in the house is in this apartment, #1.
         


        Hunting: None in the near vicinity. The closest hunting is about a 45 minute drive in Southern Marquette County.



        Internet: Excellent. We have the strong internet feeds through Spectrum- 500 mbps. If you need to use our guest Netflix account, please ask. We also have cable TV as well, so you do not need to rely on streaming if you would prefer local channels.

        Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels.



        Parking: Easy driveway parking for up to 2 vehicles and a trailer.

        Pets:  Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on.  Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we’ll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.

        Privacy: While Apartment #1 has a separate entryway, there is a shared front entrance for Apartments #1 and #2.  

        Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.


        Space: This is an older home which was converted into a 3 unit apartment years ago. The house is on one level, after you walk through te entryway.
         


        Seniors: Not ideal, yet possible for many. There are about six (6) steps leading to the front entryway.  



        Televisions: There is no brand new (2023), 55" TV in the living room. 

        Towels: All bath and kitchen towels will be provided during your stay. Please bring beach towels with you!



        Washer and Dryer: There is a private washer/dryer in a separate laundry room, off the kitchen.  Starter laundry detergent and dyer sheets are provided.

        Wood: There is no campfire wood provided for this apartment since it is in a neighborhood.
