Welcome to your log cabin retreat nestled on 1.5 acres of serene woodland in Beulah, Michigan. Just a 2-minute walk from your doorstep, unwind on your private deck overlooking the Platte River—perfect for fishing, sipping coffee, or enjoying the tranquil water. Wade into the shallows to cool off or launch your kayak or canoe for a peaceful paddle. For a guided adventure, or drop off/pick up, enjoy a trip with one of the several nearby rental companies.
Within minutes, explore Northern Michigan’s best: hiking, kayaking, float tubing, fishing, golf, spa treatments, outdoor movies, concerts, skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. After a day of adventure, relax with a movie, board game or book, or whip up a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. For a night out, visit local restaurants, catch a concert at Interlochen Center for the Arts, sip at the tiki bar/igloo ice bar (at nearby Tipsy Canoe Rental & Brew), or enjoy the nostalgic drive-in movie theater.

Boats: There are no boats for guest use, but we recommend bringing a kayak or canoe to launch from the site. If you are looking to rent a boat, we recommend Tipsy Canoe Rental & Brew, which is 7 minutes (4.5 miles) away)
Boat Launch: There is a boat launch in Frankfort 23 minutes (17 miles) away!
Canoe launch at State park(Veteran's Memorial State Park)
Kayak launching from the property is an option as well
Bugs: Mosquitoes can be common in the summertime.
Bunkhouse: The detached rustic bunk house offers 2 additional twin beds for summertime sleeping. The bunkhouse does NOT have air conditioning or heat. It's equipped with a fan and 4 windows that can open to enjoy the cool night air.
Cable: There is no traditional cable here, but there is a Smart TV with YouTube TV.
Cell Phone Service: Most major carriers will work well in the area. We recommend using Wi-Fi calling if you are having spotty service.
Coffee Maker: 12-pot drip coffee maker. Coffee & filters provided.

Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Large parties are prohibited, and we ask you keep the amount of guests to the number listed as being able to sleep.

Fire-pit: Yes. Please do not have fires anywhere but the firepit.
Fishing: Platte River is a Blue-Ribbon Trout Stream, you can find rainbow trout, steelhead, and salmon.
Fishing License: A license is required to fish in Michigan.

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets, comforters, linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, bath towels, hand towels, and wash clothes.
Parking: 2 cars at the most
Pets: 2 dogs. Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. We only accept dogs at this property, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. We ask that you do not allow your dogs on the furniture at this location as well. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.
Privacy: There are other cabins in view
Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Snowmobiles are not allowed for use on the property.
