Perfect home for a family of 4 looking for a simple, clean, vacation spot. Harbor Haven is just a short 8 minute walk or 3 minute drive to a gorgeous beach on Lake Michigan! The home comes with wood planked ceilings, 2 bedrooms, 1 and ½ bathrooms, fully-equipped kitchen, and beautiful deck with patio furniture for guests to relax. On the back of the house is also a screened-in porch where you can enjoy nature bug-free! A washer/dryer and electric grill are also present for guests to enjoy!
Union Pier is a fabulous summer city with wineries, casinos, and great restaurants nearby. With the Michigan City Outlet Mall only 20 minutes away, and golf courses galore, mom and daughter can enjoy shopping, while father and son hit the course!

A/C: Yes
Animals: Birds and small animals like squirrels and raccoons.
ATV/Snowmobiles: Not the ideal place for snowmobiling or ATV's. Can not ride from house to trails and there is no room for parking a trailer. Best to leave those home and enjoy the amazing views of Lake Michigan!

Beach/Swimming: Gordon Beach is a short 5 minute walk. From house, looking at road, turn right onto Lakeshore Rd. Turn right onto Town Line Ave. Take all the way to the beach stairs.

Boat Rental: Oselka Marina in New Buffalo.

Fire Pit: You are able to build bonfires on the beach, but there is not a firepit at the house. Whatever driftwood you find or purchase some firewood at the local grocer.
Fireplace: There is a wood burning fireplace in the home. Please bring your own wood.
Fishing: Bring your poles.
Fishing License: You can purchase your fishing license online
Grill: Electric grill, charcoal grill-please bring your own charcoal
Handicap Accessible: If you can navigate a few stairs in/out of the house, you will be able to enjoy this one level home.

Linens: Yes, we provide you with basic sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are particular about the thread count of your sheets, let us know, and we will make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets.

Privacy: There is a home on the one side of the home that is visible. The backyard is semi-private. With mature trees on one side of the home and white picket fence, you will enjoy the comfort of the backyard. There is a Ring Doorbell on the front door.

Store: 4 miles away. It is called Barney’s - 10 North Thompson, New Buffalo 269-469-1210. A convenience store is within walking distance, which hosts basic supplies.
Towels: Yes, we provide towels. Please bring your own beach towels to take to the water.
TVs: 2 Smart TVs. One is in the master bedroom and one in the main family room. Roku for one TV. No Cable or Satellite boxes. Streaming only. Feel free to bring your Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon accounts! If you don’t have Netflix, we can allow you to use our account during your stay.
Washer and dryer: Yes! Laundry soap is provided.
Wood: Wood NOT provided. Please bring your own. Can be purchased at Barneys, about 4 miles away - 10 North Thompson, New Buffalo 269-469-1210.

2nd year and still loving it!
Everything was perfect! Clean and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen had cookware and utensils needed to cook our meals. There was a full size refrigerator that wasn't there last year with an icemaker...fantastic! Close to beach (5 minute walk) and quiet neighborhood. Can't wait to return!

Well Stocked
Harbor Haven was generously stocked. However, the stove worked only intermittently, and the mattresses and pillows badly need to be replaced.

review of Harbor Haven
Unit was clean and as advertised. In a nice quiet neighborhood and close to the beach. Some small areas could have used touch up painting and wall repair, and no hair dryer in the unit. Would definitely rent this unit again.

We did very much enjoy our stay. Proximity to the beach, layout of kitchen, dining, living, back deck and screened in porch. We would definitely come back. Would be so much better if the small bedroom bed could be taken out and replaced with a full bed only, bedside tables and lamps. Getting into the bed was much like getting into a tent and we are getting a little too old for that. The bunk shelves weren't useful. No hangers in closet. Small dresser. Master bedroom good except overhead light didn't have cover. Another chair in living room would be nice. None of this would keep us from coming back but thought that you might want to know.

Appreciated the extended stay til noon. The bathroom and kitchen soap smelled terrible. There weren't many towels other than the beach towels. But overall, we had a great time!

Wonderful time'
Roomy and comfortable, very nice screened in porch and table/chairs on porch. Close to beach, grocery store, bakery. Definitely come back.

Perfect place for a getaway
This was our second time staying here, and we enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time. The location is perfect - walking distance to the beach! (Which is what we were mostly looking for). The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the deck was nice on those beautiful summer days. We took many walks around the area and also walked the beach. The staff was quick to respond when needed. We will definitely be back!

Quiet and relaxing and short walk to beach
Roomy enough for 4 adults. 10 minute walk to McKinley Beach to the north. Fresh towels and comfy beds. Enjoyed the outdoor space for cooking outside. A/C was wonderful and cool. Very quiet neighborhood. Hope to visit again!

“Wow! What a find. Very cute cottage, just right for a couple or a small family. Place was exactly as described and was very clean. Quiet little lakeside neighborhood (though it was probably because we were there in December ;-) ). Great launching point for seeing the area wineries and breweries, as well as very close to Michigan City to see the Christmas Lights in Washington Park. Then back to the house to cuddle by the fire and watch a movie. Exactly what we needed to get away and unwind. We are already talking about when we can go back! Highly recommend this place.”

Relaxing
Spotlessly clean, rental company was quick with response to any questions or needs. Went over Christmas so there was no one in any of the homes near us. Hard to find a public place to get to the beach. Private homes line the coast. Not much space between homes so glad we came in the slow season. Fireplace was great but had to supply own wood. Home is starting to show need of upkeep. Some trim missing along the floor, closet doors did not latch, hole in ceiling where smoke alarm used to be, paint peeling off deck, water cooler/heater had no water and would not heat the water when we got some. Nothing that would prohibit our staying here again. But noticeable.

I loved the cottage. The key pad was inconsistent; I believe the battery was wearing down. I appreciated the extra paper towels, garbage bags, and toilet paper. There were a few things I would have cleaned up if I were housekeeping. The pans under the stove burners were dirty; I would change them once or twice a year. The area in front of the fireplace needed to be swept. These are minor issues. The rest of the cottage was clean. I liked the openness and natural light. The deck and screened area were nice additions. I am planning to return. Just hope the lock works this time.

Great place for a beach getaway
This house was a great beach getaway with family! Very clean and a nice place. The enclosed patio area was a nice & quiet place to relax at the end of the day. Walking distance to the beach - which is exactly what we were looking for. Easy check in process.

Week to Relax
Very clean and well equipped home. Located very close to Gordon Beach. Internet worked very well to keep us in touch with the outside world. Warren beach and Michigan City were only minutes away offering a multitude of choices for the wayward traveler. But for us, the beaches by day and comfortable house at night were all we needed.

Comfortable for a small family
Location is great, short walk to beach and to little shops. Close to New Buffalo and Redamaks for burgers (cash only)! Stray Dog is a great spot too. Close to Warren Dunes and short drive to St. Joseph Beach. Electricity went out the last night and management was quick to respond (didn't ruin our time). The outside needs a little TLC and we were not able to get the outdoor shower to work. Other than that, great time and would love to go back! Thanks much

We had a nice time at this location! Sadly it rained 2 out of our 4 days there, but cannot control that. Wish there was more closer by for little kids on rainy days, but my husband and I had never been up there so were just searching on google. For those with kids, there are some beach toys in the closet and an umbrella and some chairs so you won't necessarily have to buy those. The property managers were fantastic! The house tends to run a little warm, but they were super helpful and were working to get it resolved for future guests. Enjoy!

Great rental close to the beach
We enjoyed our time thoroughly at Harbor Haven- the home was in great condition just as described and as seen in the pictures. The beach is a quick 5 minute walk down a quiet street, which is the main reason we chose this rental. Since it's a one story house, the AC worked quite well and kept us cooled off during our hot vacation week. Only small issues were the outdoor shower not being usable, and the fridge is quite small- something to keep in mind for those of us who buy groceries and cook for ourselves on vacation! We would definitely use this rental again if visiting Union Pier.

The lovely home was perfect for entertaining family in the area. A close walk to the market and the beach. Very clean. Loved our stay!

Cute house close to beach
The house was very nice, walking distance to the beach. St. Joseph is about 20mins away with lots of shops and cafes. Silver beach is there also and a lighthouse. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Very clean cute place next to several beaches and places to go. Backyard is very nice at night . My husband and I and two kids stayed here and plenty of room for all of us. Thank you !

Amazingly cute & family friendly
This place was absolutely charming from the moment you step out of the car! Beautiful inside! Comfortable beds! Even had a few treasures for the kiddos to play with while we got settled in. Loved everything about this place! Beach was a very short drive away (not even 3 minutes, could have walked, but I was on vacation). We can't wait to go back!

Very simple VERY clean!
Property was fenced in, quiet and well stocked with necessities. The beach near by was smaller, but Michigan City has a public beach that was awesome. Would stay again!
