FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Air Conditioning:
There are ceiling fans in every bedroom, the living room, and kitchen. The house does not have air conditioning but it is rarely needed. The house is shaded by mature maple trees and there's almost always an afternoon breeze off the lake. The ceiling fans will put you to sleep when there is a rare muggy night.

Boat Launch: Public boat launch 1/4 mile from cottage

Cable/Satellite TVs: No there is not traditional cable or satellite available

Cell phone service:  Most cell providers don’t work well at the lake house due to hills around the lake. AT&T has the best coverage at the house. Cell phones work great if you get away from the hill, about ½ mile from the house, or in the middle of the lake (keep the phone dry)! Verizon gets limited service, AT&T gets 3 bars.

Distances:  * Boyne Mountain: 20 min.

Due to the location of the properties nearby, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at Freshwater property locations for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if they are legal in that city. If you do not follow these rules you will be asked to leave immediately.

Fireplace: Yes, wood burning

Fire-pit: Yes, portable

Parking: The driveway is relatively short and on a slope. No more than 4 vehicles on property. No large RVs or trailers to be parked on the property. Please do not park on neighbors property.

Pets: Up to 2 dogs (less than 50 lbs. each) are welcome! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/PER PET for your entire stay. Please note while we do accept pets, this is not a great place for pets, as there is no fenced yard and a moderately traveled road (unpaved) is in front of the property, between the house and the lake.

Privacy/ Neighbors: Neighbor cottages are very close.  Please be respectful of quiet hours between 10 pm - 8 am.

Cozy and comfortable
We loved our stay on Huffman Lake! The house was super cozy and comfortable. We cooked a lot and were super impressed by how well stocked the kitchen was. We had everything we needed and more! The area is gorgeous- we enjoyed walking out to the lake to enjoy the sunrise and sunset, and exploring the forest and searching for elk herds. Hope we can return some day!

FVR RESPONSE:
Kate, thank you for the kind words! We hope to see you again in the future!
