Gitche Gumee Chalet Paradise
GITCHE GUMEE CHALET
* LAKEFRONT (VIEW of Lake Superior)
* TAHQUAMENON FALLS STATE PARK—20 min away!
* ORVs ARE WELCOME
*Because this home sits on a bluff, you are unable to actually touch the water from the property.
***Guests should not attempt to reach Lake Superior from the property. The historically high water levels have destabilized the shoreline, and it is very dangerous to go beyond the fence. Simply put...Stay away and stay safe!
*Swimming, boating, and fishing can be acted out 3 miles south, at the mouth of the Tahquamenon river where it enters into Whitefish Bay.
Adults, come and enjoy a quiet home with a great view of Gitche Gumee (as Longfellow refers to it…”the Big Sea”.) Gitche Gumee means "Lake Superior"! From the uncovered deck, gaze over the distant water just in time to see the sunrise. This home sits on a 30 ft. bluff, so for safety reasons, children are discouraged from staying. Safely, adults are able to gander at the raw, primitive, Lake Superior shore while lighting a bonfire among friends.
This 2-bedroom home, with a master bedroom on the main floor and 3 other beds in the loft area, is a quaint getaway. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, 1 full bathroom, and a dining table that seats 6. The living room and loft area have smart TV's, and also have Jamadots sticks that give you access to local channels-NBC, ABC, COMET, CBS, PBS & FOX.
For those who absolutely love the snow, this lake house is a great fit! You are on Michigan’s snow-belt and are within reach of many trails fit for snowmobiling. We always encourage you to do your research on trails before you get this home, that way, you can jump right on the trails from the front door and take off!
***PLEASE REMEMBER***Because this home sits on a bluff, you are unable to actually touch the water from the property. Swimming, boating, and fishing can be acted out 3 miles south, at the mouth of the Tahquamenon river where it enters into Whitefish Bay.
