Abbott Lake House Rose City

ABBOTT LAKE HOUSE (Rose City) in the Huron National Forest on Briggs Lake. 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 2 kitchen areas, boat included, and ping pong table.

Abbott Lake House

SLEEPS: 8 comfortably
BEDROOMS: 3 (Queen size beds) + basement sleeping (twin daybed + twin trundle underneath)
BATHROOMS: 2.5 (one on each level)
*LAKEFRONT*- On the small Briggs Lake

As you enter Huron National Forest, driving through the long tree lined, gravel driveway leading up to the cottage, you immediately feel a classic Up North experience upon you.  As you get away from it all, there is ease on the forefront of this cottage in Rose City, Michigan. Pulling onto the nice driveway, you will find the cottage easily accessible, sitting on the small, 7 acre private Briggs Lake. Plus you have access to the 2 car garage with opener so unpacking or packing is convenient regardless of the weather.
Entering the cottage, there is a convenient area to take off your boots, hang up a wet towel or just place all your coats together.  Through the door you will immediately be captured by the gorgeous view from the large window across the living room.   See the ideal space for your family to share meals on the beautiful wood table, directly across from the well-stocked kitchen. The kitchen has all your basic necessities, plus a few bonus small appliances, such as a micro-grill and blender.  Unlike many vacation rentals, this cottage actually has a dishwasher and air conditioning, although the upstairs bedrooms still get quiet warm in the summer.  The air-conditioning works well on the main floor and walk-out basement areas ONLY.  The view of the small lawn and surrounding trees are ideal when you want to watch your children playing a lawn game.
Not only are the kitchen and dining area on the main floor, you will find a great living space with a comfortable, large couch for watching your favorite shows on the Smart TV. Bring your Netflix account information, or we'll provide you one.  Even though the amenities are plenty and the comfort level high, it's hard to spend much time deep inside the cottage when there is so much to experience on the outside.
The main floor has a wide, comfortable year-round sunroom.  Sit at the table with your laptop as you get caught up on email from work, or cozy up on the couch with a book on the opposite side of the porch. There is also a main floor bedroom with a queen bed which overlooks the grassy area. Watch the snow fall or your kids play on the beach, all from the comfort of the year round porch.  This is ideal for anyone who would struggle getting down the incline to the beach area, yet want to see the fun. There is basic air conditioning ONLY on the main floor. The upstairs bedrooms are NOT air conditioned.
Across the living room is the stairs leading to the 2 upstairs bedrooms. Both bedrooms have a queen-sized bed. (Even with air-conditioning on the main level, the upstairs bedrooms get quite warm in the summer. The air-conditioning works well on the main floor and walk-out basement areas.) One bedroom faces the water, while the other faces the woods. Between the bedrooms is a small 1/2 bath with a toilet and sink, which is so convenient for those middle of the night trips to the bathroom. In the basement, there are 2 additional twin beds, plus a convenient stove and fridge. The washer and dryer are located in the kitchen area as well.  Plus, on those rainy days there is nothing like a ping-pong tournament to bring your family together.
The truly unique piece of this Rose City cottage is the experience of feeling connected to nature through the astounding views of both the Huron National Forest and Briggs Lake. There are just so many things you can do in this area: tubing, fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling, ice skate right in the back yard, and golf courses are all not too far away!

Cleaning Fees Explained:
a. Cleaning fees booked directly through Freshwater Vacation Rentals are NOT taxable.  (This is a way to save you $$.)
b. Even though our room rate is generally less per night during the Spring, Fall and Winter, no one wants the cleaning quality to decrease.
c. We expect our cleaners to clean at the same level they would for the Peak Summer season, year-round.
d. We pay our cleaners a living wage. They deep clean, wash all the linens and prep each bed, regardless of how many people are on the reservation.

a. When a couple is staying at a large house, and using only 25% of it, do they really want the home cleaned only 25%? Of course not.
b. When considering how many beds will be used, there are many variables-- Who are couples? Just friends? Family? Do all couples sleep in the same bed? Who snores?
c. Yes, sometimes the cleaner will make more money on your stay than the property owner or management company.  It is essential to keep the space fresh and consistently cleaned throughout the year.

 Please note:
If you are truly just staying in as a couple at the Abbott Lake House, and will not need to venture either upstairs or downstairs, we can do so at a reduced cleaning fee upon request.
If we can, we will. It's the Freshwater Vacation Rentals positive guest experience mantra.

Great fall getaway
Peaceful, quiet home on a semi-private lake. The house has plenty of room for 6 -7 adults. Could use a bit of updating. But all in all was comfortable. The property managers very quick responses and took care of issues in a timely manner. Loved having the fire pit and access to the boats. The closed in porch offers a great view of the lake even on cold mornings.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Shelly, we are glad that Abbott Lake House worked out well for you.  The firepit is great for relaxing in the evenings, even when it is cold.  Abbott Lake House sleeps 8 and has 2.5 bathrooms.  The bank of windows across the front of the house gives guests a great view of the lake.  We'd love to have you back again.

So relaxing!
This property was exactly as described. So clean and spacious. We loved the property as it was perfect for hanging our hammocks and watching the kids play on the beach. The water was beautiful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

We love this place!
This was our second year staying at the Abbott Lake house. We love this place so much! The three seasons room is amazing and the private secluded beach is wonderful. The kids love playing in the sand and swimming in the water. I would highly recommend this place for families. The only downside is that in the high heat of summer, the upstairs rooms get quite warm. Plan to bring box fans.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Breanna, we love getting reviews from our returning guests, especially ones like yours!  Abbott Lake House  in the Huron National Forest on Briggs Lake is a great vacation spot.  It has a ping pong table and 2 kayaks and a rowboat.  There are just so many things you can do in this area: tubing, fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling, ice skate right in the backyard, and golf courses are all not too far away!  We hope you come back for a third year!

This house was great!! My daughters and I stayed for a week and never left, except for food, because there was everything already there for a relaxing and entertaining week! I highly recommend this house.

Family week at Abbott
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Abbott House. This spacious home provided plenty of room for 5 adults and 3 young children to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped. The sandy beach was perfect for our 3 grandchildren under the age of 5 to enjoy as well as the shallow waterfront. The kayaks are a real plus as well as the fire pit. Also, the screened in porch was awesome. We enjoyed a great game night as well as several meals there. Freshwater Vacations does a great job of addressing anything that came up along the way. Thank you Cara and staff.

Wendy, it makes us happy to hear that Abbott Lake House worked out so well for your family.  Making summer vacation memories with grandkids is so special.  We appreciate your comments about the staff of FVR.  It is our mission to make each of our guest's stays as enjoyable and worry free as possible.  We hope to see you again.

Beautiful and relaxing lake view!
Spent three days at this lovely location, just fishing, kayaking and hanging out at the great bonfire pit. Lake is quiet and lovely and the cottage’s elevated sun porch offers a breathtaking view of the property and water. No dock, but didn’t miss it with the sandy beach area.

HI Angela,  isn't it great when you find the perfect vacation spot?  Abbott Lake House offers so much to its guests.  You certainly had a good weather week for swimming - nothing better that cool water on a hot day.  We hope to see you back again.

This place is wonderful!
“This place is wonderful! Located inside the Huron National Forest, on a small lake, you can view some of the sunset from the sun porch. It has an automatic fireplace to heat it in the Winter. Our children were able to sled and could have ice skated. It has 2 large bedrooms upstairs and a 1/2 bath. Main level has a great room with a sectional couch, smart TV wifi, kitchen, full dining room, 1 large bedroom and full bathroom. The sun porch has a couch, and finished basement has washer dryer, bed, couch, ping pong table walk out to lower deck with upper deck above! Very private and quiet, because there are only 2 or 3 lake homes on this small lake. Row boat and kayak access! 2 car garage and air conditioned in summer. We had a lovely time in December and would like to go back this summer. Every detail is lovely.”

Hi Maria! Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at Abbott Lake House. We appreciate all of your positive comments. We are thrilled you got to enjoy Christmas with your family. We agree it's a great place whether it's winter or summer! We'd love to have you back this summer!

We really enjoyed our stay. The view was awesome, The house was cozy and had everything we needed. Watching the Deer, wild turkey's, and raccoons eat the feed you provided was well worth the trip. We would definitely stay there again and will recommend to others.

We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay! We love the deer watching up there as well! I feel a bit sorry for the turkeys around this time of year, but oh well! We hope to see you in the near future :)

September 2017 Abbott House
The property was everything we could have hoped for, it was clean well maintained and had plenty for our party to do with access to the lake and water craft (kayaks and row boat). The lake was small but stocked with fish and I even caught a nice sized Large Mouth Bass which I cooked over the fire pit. The thorough and professional service from Freshwater Vacation Rentals was outstanding. Cara and her team made sure we knew exactly which properties offered what we were looking for and were exceptionally prompt and knowledgeable with responses to any question we had. Cannot recommend them strongly enough. Thanks FVR!

We are happy you enjoyed your stay and am thrilled you enjoyed the fishing!  Please consider renting one of our 54 other properties the next time you plan your Michigan adventure. We thank you for the compliments and appreciate your recommendation to others! Hope to see you soon!

House was Great!
House was Great, home owner was very great driving 3 hours to bring us a new pack n play..the incline to lake far to steep for children and people with knee problems, beach area not big enough...... We had a great time making memories with our family

We are glad you enjoyed the house! We will make a notation in our description about the incline. Thank you for the suggestion.

Great place
The Abbott Lake house is all that was described and more. Rented it for a week in August, wanted to check out in spring. We have ATV's and trails are great and close. Two grandsons loved the beach, even in May 50 deg and sunny. Went out in the boat, water very clear can see alot. Everybody caught fish. Can not wait to return. Everything you need is there. Love the location very secluded. Even had dog beds and dog got along fine. Brought the kids bikes they loved the driveway. Plenty of places to relax. Looking forward to returning.

We love boating too and Abbott Lake House is a great place for that and more! Good to know the fish are biting! We cater to our furry friends as well, why not bring them along! We have 54 other locations all waterfront, please check out our website for our newest vacation rentals across Michigan!

We liked the house a lot. We had troubles with the dishwasher, we called and had follow up during the day, at the end it was the breaker and get it to work again. WE like that we have good service and followup on the phone. We liked that it was very clean, it smelled very nice, very well equipped.Note: we did not find the extra set of keys on the kitchenAlso, one suggestion is to have few kitchen utensils for the oven, we want it to bake some food and could not find anything that would look like oven safe.
