Hunters, Snowmobilers, Skiers come on down! Topaz Meadows sits on 80 private acres with active wildlife, for hunters and animal lovers to enjoy. In addition, those that love to play in the snow will enjoy being close to mile marker 8 (a mile away), and the various ski hills throughout the area (30-40 miles away). Guests will get caught up in the serenity of Topaz Meadows. Completely private, sit back and relax amongst nature.
This home sleeps 6, with applianced-kitchen, 1 bathroom, and living room area (with TV). Grill on the charcoal grill or enjoy an evening around the fire pit with friends at Topaz Meadows.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Air Conditioning: No central air. There is a standing AC unit. There are ceiling fans in living area, bed 1 and bed 3.
ATV's: ATVs are welcome, however, they can only be driven in the field. The main public trail is a mile from home. Ontonagon County mile marker 8. There is enough room for 2-truck/trailer combos.
Animals: Deer are in yard, usually in morning/evening, wolves, fox, squirrels, sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, bear are present.
Bathroom: Shower, tub, sink, toilet
Beach/Swimming: The public beach is Lake Gogebic 7-10 miles away. There are multiple inlets there to swim and be active.
Bedroom: Queen bed
Bedroom #2: 2 Twin beds
Bedroom #3: Full bed
Boats: The public launch is Lake Gogebic 7-10 miles away at Bergland Public Park.
Bugs: Typical Michigan bugs. May flies are solid for the month of June. Bug spray is recommended.
Cell phone service: Verizon and AT&T are good. Everything else is sketchy.

Drinking Water: It is well water (spring fed well). Some guests may choose to bring bottled water for drinking.
Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.
Fishing: Lake Gogebic 7-10 miles away. Please be sure to bring your own poles as there are none at this property. Also, in order to fish in Michigan lakes, one is required to hold a fishing license. Click here to purchase your fishing license online.
Grill: Charcoal. Charcoal is provided.
Grocery Store: Mini-mart is about 10 mile away. Full-blown market is in Bruce Crossing-14 miles away.
Handicap Friendly: Let us explain what we mean by handicap friendly…there is a zero-1 step-2 step entry into this home, and it is one level (a ranch-style home). The bathrooms and hallways are not up to official handicap standards. The bathroom does has safety bars in the bathtub, and to the side of the commode.
Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I’ll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels.
Parking: There is enough cars for 4-5 vehicles to park on-site.
Pets: No pets allowed at this time.
Privacy:Nothing but trees!
Seniors:Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart!
Snowmobiles: Mile-Marker 8 (which eventually connects to 13 or 3) is just a mile away. A person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Space: Ranch style with full basement.
Televisions: Flat-screen in living room will have streaming capabilities and a TV(dvd’s only) in bedroom #3.
Towels: Yes, we provide towels. It's always good to bring extra though.
Washer and dryer: Yes! It is in the basement for guests to use. Liquid soap is provided.
