Close to snowmobile trails, just 40 minutes to Marquette, and a great lay-out for entertaining, Silver Chalet is a comfortable home around the holidays! With a large stone fireplace, 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, come and enjoy Lake Michigamme in warmth!  Located on 4 acres, Silver Chalet is 3 floors, has a fully equipped kitchen, sleeps between 6-8 adults, and hosts a large decks (entire length of house) for those who want to feel the crisp air midday.
The upstairs hosts 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed and a loft area right in between the bedrooms which has a pull-out couch (double bed). On the main floor, you will find the master bedroom en suite which has a King bed; perfect for cuddling.

Air Conditioning: YES! Also, there are ceiling fans in each bedroom and in the loft area.
 
ATV's: YES! Many trails around the home.


Animals: Bear, deer, partridge, variety of hunted-birds, grouse, and moose.


Bathroom:
        Bathroom #1: Master bed, soaking tub and shower
        Bathroom #2: Upstairs in loft area full shower only
        Bathroom #3: half bath on main floor
        Bathroom #4: downstairs with a sauna (fits 6-8 people) and              
                                     comes equipped with a shower


Beach/Swimming: Walk out beach. Sandy bottom with over 70 ft. of frontage. Lay-out goes from grass-2 foot of sand-to water.

        Bedroom #2: Green Room has a King and is upstairs
        Bedroom #3: Bear Room has a Queen and is upstairs
        Bedroom/Loft: Fold out couch-double in between both bedrooms
      
Boats:  One Canoe and a kayak are available for guests to use. There will be a 5 orange jackets there, but feel free to bring you own life vests.
Bugs: Typical Michigan bugs.
 
Cell phone service: Verizon is pretty good here!

              * Tahquamenon Falls State Park: 3 hours (168 miles) 
              * Mackinac Bridge: 3 hours and 50 minutes (204 miles)
              * Craig Lake State Park: 10 minutes to the west on HWY 41
              * Canyon Falls: 25 minutes (21 miles)
              * Van Riper State Park: 10 minutes to the east HWY 41                     
              * Water Warrior Island at Van Riper State Park (summer only) 
              * Keweenaw Peninsula / Copper Country: 1 hour and 15
         minutes (65 miles) (Shop, dine, and explore in and around the
         Houghton / Hancock area or drive another 90 minutes north to Copper Harbor)

Dock: Private dock is 60 feet. It is L-shaped.

Fireplace: A lovely fireplace for guests to use. Please bring your own firewood to use.

Fire-pit: Yes! It is large! So bring the smores!

Fishing: Some common fish you will see in the nearby lake are walleye, pike, perch, and musky.  Please be sure to bring your own poles as there are none at this property. Also, in order to fish in Michigan lakes, one is required to hold a fishing license. Click here to purchase your fishing license online.


Grill: Propane Grill on the deck. Propane is provided


Grocery Store: Michigamme Market is about 15 minutes away when you come off the freeway from Marquette. In Marquette, there are a ton of shopping areas.
Handicap Friendly: Let us explain what we mean by handicap friendly…there is a zero-1 step entry into this home, and it is one level (a ranch-style home). The bathrooms and hallways are not up to official handicap standards and do not come equipped with special apparatus to help those in need.

Internet:  No internet at this home.

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I’ll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels.

Parking: You are allowed 4 cars or 2 Truck/Trailer combinations. Please park in front of the garage. Trailers can be left by pole barn.

Pets: There are no dogs allowed on property. 

Privacy: You can see the houses next door, but there is woods/foliage between the homes. About a 2- lot distance on each side.

Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. There are 3 levels to this home, however the steps are average between levels.  This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart!

Snowmobiles:  a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Space:  3 levels.

Televisions: All the TVs in the house have cable. There is 1 TV in the great room 62”, one in the master bedroom, and one in the kitchen.

Towels: Yes, we provide towels.  It's always good to bring extra though.

Washer and dryer: YES!  

Wood: Please bring your own wood for the fireplace and fire pit.
