Eagle Harbor- Docs Inn Eagle Harbor

DOC'S INN: 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath with a partial view of Lake Superior

Doc's Inn

There are 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, a full kitchen, and a large dining and living room space.

Doc’s Inn-This cottage was built for a regular Lake Breeze guest. He was a physician who traveled with his chauffeur, so the house was built with two bedrooms; the larger for the doctor and the smaller for the chauffeur. The magnificent stone fireplace was built by Louis Ozzie who also built the fireplaces at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge.

A message from the owners:
“At the turn of the century, our great-grandparents emigrated from Scandinavia and settled in the Keweenaw Peninsula not only building a new life for themselves but literally building many of the churches, schools, stores and homes in the area. Of course many childhood memories include swimming in Lake Superior, picking thimble berries, grilling fresh-caught fish and watching for bears and wildlife in this magical place.
We fell in love with these 4 cottages because they belonged to the original Lake Breeze Resort in Eagle Harbor. Built in the 20’s, this resort had 15 cottages that sat on “The Hill” overlooking the harbor. As time went on, some of the cottages were sold and we now find ourselves lucky enough to own four.

Everything was great. The cabin was well organized, well stocked and very clean. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again if we have the opportunity to return.

Beyond our expectations!
We stayed at Doc's Inn for three nights in mid-July, and were most pleasantly surprised by how comfortable everything was! From the decorating to the well stocked pantry(SO great to find coffee supplies!), all our needs we anticipated and taken care of. We enjoyed being walking distance from the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse and beach, and enjoyed a great meal at the Eagle Harbor Inn, just up the road. The cottage was clean, and well taken care of. We enjoyed all the amenities of cable, Internet, and cell service. This truly is a lovely spacious cabin and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. The folks at Freshwater Rentals make everything so easy, too! They are greeat to work with!

Our sentiments exactly!

June vacation
We stayed at Docs Inn for a week and had a wonderful time. We lucked out with good weather (warmer than it usually is at this time) and got to enjoy time at Eagle Harbor. The little beach was the perfect size and just a quick walk from the house. Being by the lighthouse was nice too. There is an observation deck there that we enjoyed going to where we could watch sunsets and the night sky. Eagle Harbor Inn has decent food for carry out which was nice our first night there. The town itself is like a step back in time-very safe and friendly. The property was well kept and the kitchen was stocked with all basics to cook with. There were also odds and ends of salt, flour, etc left over by other guests. There are two grills outside-charcoal and propane-which is nice for cooking outside. The bedrooms were comfortable and the living room was cozy. The fireplace is beautiful but non working. Lots of windows and fans to open up the house and being in the ocean breezes. The four houses are close together with a shared washer/dryer. The laundry room had everything you could possibly need-beach bags, towels, beach chairs, laundry detergent and even a first aid kit. We were the only guests at any of the four cottages so it was nice and quiet. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We have stayed at four different Freshwater properties and always had examplar service and quick responses to any questions we had prior to or during a stay. We will continue to book with Freshwater on our trips to Michigan. We would stay at Doc's Inn again as we loved the Keweenaw Peninsula and all we could do up there.

WOW! THANK YOU for the wonderful feedback. We appreciate your loyalty and would concur that is a pleasure having you as guests. We are continually adding new properties, as you know, so please continue to check out our website or "like" us on facebook to see specials.

A nice cottage
We stayed in August for 4 nights. The cottage is roomy and very well-equipped. It was neat and clean. The owners seem to have thought of everything to make the guest comfortable.

We are happy you enjoyed your stay!

Comfortable and cosy
Great house in a great location. Nice large living area. Only criticism is dish washer and furnace are loud and no heating ducts to bedroom and bathroom.

Eagle Harbor Stay
We had a great stay. Really liked the cabin and all of its amenities, very clean and comfortable to relax in. Quite close to surrounding cottages and tight parking. We planned on a usable fireplace but it had a sign "Do not use", disappointed. Eagle Harbor is a neat little village in a beautiful setting especially when fall colors come. We also really liked Eagle Harbor Inn for lunch and dinner, with in walking distance. We definitely will be back

We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us. We apologize about the fireplace. We hope you do book again in the future. Remember, we have 60 properties stacked around Michigan; please check out our website to see the newest homes and special deals.

Great Visit to Eagle Harbor
The property was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The location was convenient but glad we had a small car for our parking space!

Martha, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Eagle Harbor- Docs Inn.  It has a magnificent stone fireplace, great swimming, beach chairs and beach bags and close proximity to both Copper harbor and Eagle Harbor.  We'd love to work with you again soon.
