Historic Interpretation

Throughout the fort, historical interpreters embody voyageurs, British soldiers, and French-Canadian merchant families, ready to answer your questions and showcase period-specific activities. The lines between past and present blur, offering a unique and immersive experience. Witness the dramatic sights and sounds of cannons, mortars, and muskets firing, and observe residents as they prepare meals and tend their gardens. During the summer, on-site archaeologists continue to unearth pieces of history, making this one of North America’s longest ongoing archaeological projects.
