Brockway Mountain Drive
Starting in Copper Harbor, MI, the Brockway Mountain Drive offers visitors a 9.5-mile drive of M-26 with amazing views of Lake Superior. Pass through the midst of thousands of aces of the Keweenaw Peninsula until you reach Eagle Harbor. Designated as a Michigan Wildlife Viewing Area, this is the highest drive above sea level between the Rockies and the Alleghenies. Visitors may glimpse migratory birds of prey from April to June. This is an ideal scenic drive in the Upper Peninsula, where you can view inland lakes or even the Northern Lights.
Copper Country Trail National Byway
As a nod to the historical significance of the copper mining community, the Copper Country Trail National Byway spills over with natural beauty. This route features a 47-mile stretch of US-41 from Houghton to Copper Harbor. It winds its way through the immense wilderness of Keweenaw. You will see historical sites, such as the Keweenaw Waterway, Quincy Mine, Fort Wilkins State Park, and more.
Black River Scenic Byway
Would you like the opportunity to see multiple waterfalls in a short 14-mile drive? The Black River Scenic Byway includes Gabbro Falls, Bakers Falls, Great Conglomerate Falls, Potawatomi Falls, Gorge Falls, Sandstone Falls, Rainbow Falls, and views of Lake Superior. Starting in Bessemer on US-2, travelers will take Powderhorn Road North, then take a left onto Black River Road.
