Air Conditioning: No air conditioning in cabins, though each has a ceiling fan in living area and a smaller fan for bedroom use.
ATV's: Not on property but there are trails nearby.
Animals: Deer, squirrels, racoon, possibly bear
Bathrooms: 1 bathroom with stand up shower.
Beach/Swimming: Two shared sandy beaches are available for guest use.
Bedroom Configurations: 1 queen in bedroom.
Boats: There is room at the shared dock for a 20 ft boat or smaller, first come-first served. If bringing a trailer, please contact us as there is only one spot for trailer parking for the whole resort.

Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.

Well‑Maintained Property and a Wonderful Stay
I stayed at a small one‑bedroom cabin in Hessel, Michigan, one of the Freshwater Vacation Rentals properties, and it was a wonderful experience. The views were absolutely beautiful, and the entire setting was peaceful and relaxing. The grounds were very well kept, and it’s clear the cleaning team takes pride in their work — the cabin was spotless and felt truly cared for. It was also stocked with all the items I needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, a great place to unwind, and I would definitely return.

Great Stay at Hessel Bay
Absolutely loved our stay at Hessel Bay Cabins! We picked it based on proximity to the water, local amenities which were within walking distance along with comfort of the cabin. We were able to keep a kayak on the beach which made paddling extremely convenient and enjoyable due to many nature preserves being within an hour on the water. The cabin’s offerings of comfortable lounging area, nicely stocked kitchen and wifi/AirPlay capable TV made the few times staying inside due to lifting fog or a passing squall very pleasant. The only suggestion I have is to beef up the curtains in the bedroom to block out more light rather than just provide privacy.

Great Place to Relax
We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to spend the week. A beautiful cabin in the Upper Peninsula. The cabin itself is perfect for two people to relax and unwind.
