Welcome to The Getaway on Saint Martin Bay — your peaceful waterfront retreat on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron's Saint Martin Bay. This  3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and offers breathtaking bay views, a rocky shoreline for swimming (be sure to bring water shoes!), and a warm, inviting interior perfect for cozy evenings. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee on the deck, enjoying a fire in the solo stove, or unwinding by the wood-burning stove inside, this serene setting is perfect for a true escape. With peaceful surroundings, thoughtful amenities, and direct access to Lake Huron’s natural beauty, this getaway is the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and reconnect.

Dock: There is no dock at this location. 

Drinking Water: This property uses well water and features a reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink.

Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.

Fireplace: This property has a woodburning stove! 

Fire-pit: Solo stove at the rear of the property on the deck.

FishingThe cottage location is NOT an easy fishing spot- it’s not traditional dock fishing— it’s a rocky shoreline. You would be able to fish from there with a long cast, yet the average fisherman would not be able to.
Best nearby fishing options are at:
Nearby Hessel Marina you can go fishing off the pier (Lake Huron). 
Salmon fishing can be done in the Carp River (20 minutes away).
Les Cheneaux Islands is about 20 minutes away which are boater and fishing friendly.

Fishing License:  A license is required to fish in Michigan.

Golf: Wawashkamo Golf Club, M-134 W, Mackinac Island, MI 49757 (30 min)

Grill: Propane grill, there is extra propane in the garage.

Grocery Store: Family Fare Supermarket, 699 US-2, St. Ignace, MI 49781 (17 min)

Handicap Friendly: The property has a ramp for initial access, but no additional handicap features.

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels.

Parking: 2 cars can park in the driveway and 1-2 more can park by the wood pile across from the driveway.

Pets:  Pets are not allowed at this location. 

Privacy: Neighbors-not visible, but within earshot. 

Snowmobiles: A person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.

Seniors: They are welcome! There is a ramp to the front door.

Televisions: 40" TV in the living room! 

Towels: All bath and kitchen towels will be provided during your stay. Please bring beach towels with you!

Washer and Dryer: Yes!

Wood: Wood is provided for the stove!
