Dream Catcher Log Cabin Newaygo

DREAM CATCHER LOG CABIN (Newaygo, MI): Central Air! Sleeps 10, 60 acres, WIFI, Satellite TV

*RIVERFRONT (Little Muskegon River)- NOT water view

Wildlife, woods, and timbers, describes the unique Dream Catcher Log Cabin. Located near the Little Muskegon River (3/4 mile of a walk/drive to the river through the private, wooded area), Dream Catcher Log Cabin provides a gorgeous backdrop for creating memories with your family.  With 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, this custom-built log cabin sleeps 10-12 people (10 in beds, and 2 more on full-sized sofa). You will enjoy the private 60 acres of Huron-Manistee Forest, Wi-Fi, 3 TVs , a jetted tub in the master bedroom and a fun kids playhouse which was built to match the main log cabin. The Dream Catcher Log Cabin is not for those who dislike taxidermy, as there are a few statues of deer, turkey, and fox in the living room.

Topping out at 2200 sq. ft. Dream Catcher Log Cabin comes equipped with kitchen, including a dishwasher, high vaulted ceilings, large windows, a gas fire place (with a blower) and a landscaped fire pit area. Relax in the jetted bathtub on the main floor or take a walk through the 60 acres.

This pet-free, air-conditioned environment is crisp, clean, and welcoming.

Keep in mind that although it may appear the cabin is secluded,  there are neighbors within 200 feet.  Noise travels within the stillness of nature.  We need our guests to adhere to the Good Neighbor Policy with a 10pm-9am quiet time for outside activities. Please watch for the Freshwater and Dream Catcher signs to alert you to the property lines for the 60 acres.

A/C:  Yes! This home has central air conditioning

ATV's:  There are many ORV/ATV trails nearby. Check out this website to see the awesome trails around Newaygo

Main Floor: Full bathroom with jetted tub, shower, and heated floor

Main Floor: ½ bath – unique toilet and sink

2nd level/Upstairs: 1 full bath with a shower, sink and toilet

Beach/Swimming: Follow the trail and walk approximately ¾ of mile to the edge of the river The lay-out goes as such: steep (6-7 feet) embankment àwater (Little Muskegon River). The river has a murky-rocky-bottom. Getting into the water will be a challenge for most, though you can technically swim in the Little Muskegon River. Little Muskegon River does lead to the Muskegon River. The rocks are medium sized and not all of them are stable. So please use caution while accessing the river.  The Croton dam is 2 miles away in  Croton  which also has parks, fishing and canoes rentals.

The closest traditional sandy beach swimming is at Oxbow Park in Newaygo.

Bedroom Configuration:
                   Bedroom #1--Main Floor: 1 Queen

                   Bedroom #2—2nd level/Upstairs: 2 Queen Beds

                   Bedroom #3/Open Loft—2nd level/Upstairs:

2 Double beds + 1 Double/Full futon

Boats:  We currently do not provide any boats. There are wonderful canoe/kayak rentals at the Wisner Rents Canoes in Newaygo, along with other local options for tubing.  The Croton dam is 2 miles away in  Croton  which also has parks, fishing and canoes rentals.

Bugs: Yes there are bugs outside of the log home. Typical Michigan bugs. You are located in the woods, hence you will get a mosquito bite if you do not spray and you will have to swat a bug or two out of your face at times.

Cable/Satellite TVs:
There are a total of 3 TV's.  1 in each bedroom.  Basic cable and local channels are provided in addition to live streaming (Netflix, Prime, etc). There is not a television in the main living room.

Cameras (Outdoor):
Outside camera monitoring CAN be disabled during your stay.

Security Cameras: Due to the secluded nature of Dream Catcher, we use 3 outdoor “blink cameras” to monitor the property entrances when the property is unoccupied between guests. We understand that guests may be uncomfortable with the outdoor camera being active during their stay, so that camera is set up on a separate module and can be disabled by unplugging it.

Cell phone service: You will need to connect to wi-fi at the cabin immediately, regardless of your cell phone carrier to receive calls, messages, and data. There is also a landline for your use.

Cleaning Fees Explained:
a. Cleaning fees booked directly through Freshwater Vacation Rentals are NOT taxable.  (This is a way to save you $$.)
b, Even though our room rate is generally less per night during the Spring, Fall and Winter, no one wants the cleaning quality to decrease.
c. We expect our cleaners to clean at the same level they would for the Peak Summer season, year-round.
d. We pay our cleaners a living wage. They deep clean, wash all the linens and prep each bed, regardless of how many people are on the reservation.

a. When a couple is staying at a large house, and using only 25% of it, do they really want the home cleaned only 25%? Of course not.
b. When considering how many beds will be used, there are many variables-- Who are couples? Just friends? Family? Do all couples sleep in the same bed? Who snores?
c. Yes, sometimes the cleaner will make more money on your stay than the property owner or management company.  It is essential to keep the space fresh and consistently cleaned throughout the year.

   Please note:
If you are truly just staying in as a couple at the Dream Catcher Log Cabin, and will not need to venture upstairs, we can do so at a reduced cleaning fee upon request.
If we can, we will. It's the Freshwater Vacation Rentals positive guest experience mantra.

Peaceful wooded log cabin retreat
The cabin is just beautiful with all the details and special touches, as well as cozy and comfortable. Loved the sitting area and fireplace and in the main room! Our favorite part of our stay was walking in the woods on the property down by the river...unspoiled nature highlighted by the fall colors.

4pm check in was a bit late, but no problem
Overall great place. Pictures don’t do justice.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Kory, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed staying at the Dream Catcher Log Cabin.  The large porch is perfect for morning coffee, and the soaker tub off the master bedroom is great for relaxation after the day's activities.  The 60 acres of private land allows guests to really get away from it all.  We have to do the later check in so that our cleaners can do their work.  We hope that you will return!
