My friends and I absolutely LOVED this stay. The location is perfect and the view of the lake is gorgeous. The cabin was clean and secure, and checkin was easy. The cabin was also well-stocked with basic household items and wood for the outdoor firepit.

Perfect cabin for the 5 of us! Had everything we needed. A few other cabins in vicinity, as expected, but adequate distance from one another and space for privacy. The owners were friendly and hospitable. The shared beach had great views, nice sand & clear water. We waded but didn’t actually swim due to cooler weather & limited time. Star-gazing at night was gorgeous! We could see the water in the distance from both sides of the cabin & hear the waves. It was an easy drive to Pictures Rocks. We also tried Baldy Shores Kayaking & had a great time - very remote, peaceful & beautiful trip down Indian River & the staff & gear were great. There is a lot to do around that area and we wished we had more time. Planning to return one day to continue our adventures! If you’re looking for a cabin in the middle of nature but accessible to other activities, this works great. I had 4 teenagers with me but the beach would be great for little ones too.

The cabin was a great place to stay. It was next to the lakeside (maybe 2 to 3 minutes to walk to the beach). The firewood and fireplace were great and we enjoyed cooking and barbecuing during our stay.

We loved staying at Stony Point cabins. The cabin itself was well stocked all around, so clean and just so cozy. Loved having a little yard and fire pit to enjoy the mornings and evenings, as well as a front porch to relax on. And OMG the beach! The water was glorious with sand bars out as far as you can see. The kids and dog couldn't get enough. We felt so welcomed and comfortable. We went to Fayette and Big Spring, as well as Pictured Rocks. We were blessed with the best weather to really be able to enjoy this area. Loved the secluded feel, while still feeling like everyone was neighborly. We would 100% recommend and return!

We went to the cabin in August. The beach is right in front of the place and the water is very warm and enjoyable to swim in. We went to several places like kitch iti kipi and picture rocks, but one of our favorites was fishing down the road from where we were staying. We caught small mouth bass, pike, and sunfish. The cabin is very clean and lots of fun board games are provided to play with the family.

We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the warm, inviting Lake Michigan water right in front of the cabin and had a great time exploring some UP hot spots like Kitch-iti-kipi and Pictured Rocks. We’re also glad you found the cabin clean and enjoyed the board games with your family. We’d love to welcome you back for another memorable stay! -Jessica FVR

Stay was nice...I thought it was on the water so was just a tad disappointed when we arrived. But I should have clarified. It was a very short walk to the water, we could see it from the front door. Cozy place, nice area!

If you're looking for quiet relaxation, Freshwater is for you. The cabin was exactly as pictured, clean and we'll stocked with wood. The location is secluded and the beach is beautiful. Definitely a great place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the U.P.

Stoney Point - Nahma, Michigan
We LOVE this spot. Great location with beautiful Lake Michigan just steps away , and also tucked into some beautiful rustic woods. We spend 4 days here at the end of October. Everything was great. Just a few suggestions : A small cabinet or counter in the bathroom to hold more toiletries, and more cupboard space in the kitchen for food in cabin #4. Otherwise, perfectly peaceful & we will be back. Thank you.

The location and cottage was absolutely perfect! They provided everything we needed.
It was wonderful to have lake front access and be in the middle of the woods for some peace and quiet! The only downfall was the cottage had a strong smell of moth balls that gave us headaches and was overwhelming. There were many spider webs and a mouse visit us but that was to be expected when you are in the thick woods. I would still recommend it, just be cautious about mothballs.
Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Kayla, we are glad that you found peace and quiet at Stoney Point Cabin #4. Facing Big Bay de Noc is glorious. This 2 bedroom, one bath cottage sleeps 4-5 and allows dogs 15 lbs or under. We sincerely apologize for the mothball smell, spider web and the mouse-we will address that ASAP. We hope to see you again in the future!

Stoney Point Cabin 4
Your staff was friendly & helpful. I kind of called last minute looking for a place & I was impressed that you found me a place within just a couple hours after I called. Great job!! I had a wonderful time at Stoney Point!! The beach was beautiful & clean. The cabin was clean & the beds were comfy. Plenty of clean towels were provided as well as paper products, plastic bags & trash bags. Loved the cookware! Also, it was really, really nice that charcoal & firewood were supplied. It saved me a lot of money not having to purchase charcoal, paper/plastic products & firewood. I’ve stayed at other rentals that did not provide those things. I got lost on the way in because the road signs were not an exact match with your directions. I wrote down some signs & landmarks & gave them to Haleigh to update your directions. Thank you so much for your help in finding me the perfect, beautiful place to relax for a few days! I didn’t want to come home! I would definitely love to go back & will surely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a cozy vacation in the Upper Peninsula.
