Minutes from Indian Lake Golf Course in Manistique. Drive along Indian Lake and you'll see an isthmus where Indian Lake and Indian River meet just out outside of Manistique. Park in one of the 2 convenient parking spaces (MAX) in front of the beautiful home close to the small road (NO TRAILERS).

When you enter the home you are greeted by the large kitchen with vaulted ceilings, beautiful wooden prep island table and plenty of space for preparing your meals.  All the standard appliances are in this nice-sized kitchen: refrigerator/freezer, stove top/ oven, microwave and even a dishwasher!  There are even bar stools for family to chat with the chef!

Just past the bar stools you'll find the main floor washer & dryer, just off the kitchen. Walk to the right and you'll be able to sit with your family at the table for 6 as you enjoy our meals together.  Plus, there is an additional wooden dining table for 4 guests to use.

Walk to the left from the kitchen and you'll see the main floor washer/dryer. The screened in porch with the view of the river faces you as you cook, so you never feel too far away from the action.

Windows, windows, windows.  There is a great view of Indian River almost everywhere you turn! Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy your time together!

On the main floor, you'll not only find the kitchen with a vaulted ceiling, dining room, large living room, screened in porch, washer/dryer, yet you have a convenient bedroom with 2 twin beds and a full-sized Murphy bed which pulls down from the wall. This room has a partial view of Indian Lake. Off the living room, there is also a main floor bathroom, with a shower, sink and toilet which is easily for everyone to use on the main level.

The living room and dining room has the full view of Indian River. Plenty of seating choices for your family to relax, kick up your feet, journal, read a good book, watch the river or TV on the new 50" Smart TV.  Plenty of table to play a good game of Euchre with your family and friends.

Head up the L-shaped staircase to the second level, with a beautiful stained glass window as you ascend.  There you will find an additional 2 large bedrooms.

Upstairs, to the left of the staircase is the huge Master Bedroom with a Queen bed, and sitting area.  There is a bathroom attached to the Master Bedroom which can become a private bath for the Master, or shared with the 3rd bedroom and extra sleeping/loft area. The bathroom can be accessible to both the hallway or solely the Master Bedroom.

The upstairs bathroom is large with 2 sinks, a large lighted mirror, toilet and a full-size tub/shower.

To the right of the staircase, you'll see a loft sitting area, which can double as an extra sleeping area (futon) and TV, table and chairs. Go through this room and you are on your way to the 3rd bedroom. In the upstairs 3rd bedroom, with a nice partial view of Indian Lake  there is a set of twin bunk beds, plus an extra twin bed.

Plenty of space for yard games in the large yard facing the river.  Yes, neighbors are nearby, yet you have a nice sense of space in the yard.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Big Springs "Kich-iti-kipi": Michigan's largest freshwater spring. Two hundred feet across, and 40-feet deep. Over 10,000 gallons a minute gush from fissures in the underlying limestone at a constant 45 degree Fahrenheit.  By means of a self-operated observation raft, visitors are guided to vantage points overlooking fascinating underwater features and fantasies. Ancient tree trunks, lime-encrusted branches and fat trout appear suspended in nothingness as they slip through crystal waters far below. Clouds of sand kept in constant motion by gushing waters create ever-changing shapes and forms, a challenge to the imagination of young and old alike.

Indian Lake Golf Course:  A very popular, 18 hole golf course along Indian Lake. Just 5 minutes from the Riverdale Hideaway.

The Kewadin Casino: It is approximately 10 minutes (7 miles) from the Lodge. If you make reservations, they will pick you up at the cabin and return your group as well.

Historic Manistique Water Tower : The Old Water Tower is one of the many historic sites in Schoolcraft County. Built in 1923 and constructed in the “Roman revival” style, it is also listed in the national register. The renovated building will provide space for arts related public events and public rest room facilities while preserving one of Manistique's unique and historic buildings.

Fayette State Park & Historic Town site: Fayette was once one of the Upper Peninsula's most productive iron-smelting operations. Located on the Garden Peninsula at Snail Shell Harbor. When the charcoal iron market began to decline, the Jackson Iron Company closed its Fayette smelting operation in 1891. It is now a completely restored village including 22 historic buildings, museum exhibits and the visitor center, which can be toured May through October. The historic site is located in Fayette State Park.

Our stay was awesome. The house was nice & clean. Had a ton of fun, good location, and the sunset was beautiful. The only troubles were the mayflies and the upstairs toilet. Overall, I love the ambiance and wish we stayed longer.

River view Hideaway - Perfect for family getaway
Riverview Hideaway is the perfect spot for a family vacation. This home included everything we needed to make our own meals. Appreciated having a kayak available to use as well (2 would be nice). Our trip included grandparents (us), our daughter And SIL, and two grandsons, 6 and 4. We had fun kayaking and fishing. Even caught a couple off the pier, including a small northern. Only thing we would have preferred is a regular queen sized or king sized bed in the downstairs bedroom rather than a Murphy bed and twin bed.

FVR RESPONSE

Karin, we love that you had a  3-generation vacation at  Riverdale Hideaway, and that it worked out so well for your family.  Plus, catching fish makes it even better.  We will send your suggestions to the owners.  We'd love to work with you again.

Great place for family gathering and fall pictures
It was the perfect fit for our family of 10. Lot's of room to hang out and spend time together. Overall we loved it. Couple things you may want to improve on: 1) bed in the master bedroom. 2) water pressure in showers (if possible). Thank you for a great weekend.

Great location and plenty of room!
Right on the river and across the street from Indian lake, and a 5 minute drive to downtown Manistique. Less than an hour to the pictured rocks. This was a perfect location for our family. We had one small issue that the owner addressed immediately. Plenty of room and windows along with ceiling fans kept us all comfortable.

Wonderful property
The property was equipped with everything you could possibly think of, no worries if you forgot the wine opener, matches or even campfire roasting sticks - they had it all! Spacious home with room for the guys to watch football, the kids to do puzzles and table to dine. Rain or shine there was plenty to do on site and even great site seeing within miles. River on one side & lake on the other for boating and fishing and the neighbors were fabulous & friendly, too. Limited parking for multiples, but we had 3 full size pick ups and made it work.

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:
YES! We do try to provide everything at Riverdale to the best of our abilities. You're on vacation, why should you have to worry about remembering the wine opener? We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay. Please consider our 54 other properties as well for your next Michigan vacation!
