Our troop of 8 arrived on 10/17/2019 for five days. It was for a sad event and not a pleasure trip. The Michigan cold fall weather certainly was not welcoming. We had a very good bonding time. The kayaks, the fire pit and the fishing were very good despite the weather. A fish was caught from a kayak and another "big" Pike from the dock. The games were an added attraction. I couldn't believe hearing the laughter coming from a game of Trouble. The baby of our group was 17. No one focusing on their phones Owner responded immediately to a concern we had. The only con we had was the steep steps in the back house. There were two of us that could not master the steps. So if steps are a problem, just plan the sleeping arrangement as there a plenty of beds. Hopefully we will be able to return for a week in the summer.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Carol, we of course wish that your stay had been for pleasure, but we are happy that Pearl Beach Quarters fit your family's needs.  It is good to get away from our phones for a while, and simply get back to nature, which it sounds like your family did.  Thank you for the input about the back stairs.  We'll be sure to mention that in our description.  We look forward to your return in the summer for a happier occasion.

Worked out great
The cabin was exactly what my dad and I needed for our hunting trip. It was small but cozy. We didn't need a lot of room, just a nice warm place to sleep and watch tv after the days hunt. The only thing that I can say anything negative about was that I had a lot of trouble getting anything worth while to watch on the TV. It could have been just me not knowing what I was doing, I have cable and it is straight forward. I would stay again if I needed a place in the area.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Bob, we are glad that you had a successful hunting trip at Pearl Beach Quarters.  Pearl Beach Quarters is newly renovated with luxury flooring, high-grade carpeting, new furniture, brand new beds, and a great view of Turk Lake.  It sleeps 8 in 2 separate living quarters, and has a washer and dryer for guests' convenience.  We'd love to have you back again.

Making Family Memories
I rented this cottage to welcome my daughter back in after her 8 month deployment overseas with the USAF. We loved it. Its about a 40 min drive from my house in Saranac and about an hour from the GR airport. I was very happy with the amount of space shown on the website but was even more impressed to see how much more room there really was when I got there. No shortage of blankets or towels. Everyone woke up after the first night saying how incredibly comfortable the beds were. It rained one day but being able to sit in the front room on the lake and enjoy time with my family was very relaxing. We played old school board games that were provided and had a riot doing so! When it was nice out we were on the kayaks that were also provided, catching fish non-stop (blue gill, sun fish, and even a few 18 incher bass). The lake is BEAUTIFUL, crystal clear!! We had a bon-fire the 2 nights that it did not rain, plenty of room for us to sit out there by the fire. The yard & proximity to the neighbors is as described so if you do have a dog you absolutely need to keep watch of it 110% of the time for their safety and respect of the neighbors. I know there are some reviews mentioning the people next door but no issues here. I completely understand and respect being a home owner next door to a rental. A few things we had to go out and buy were charcoal, lighter fluid, toilet paper, and paper towel but stores are close by so not a big deal. The check in email says to contact the rental co for things like that which I feel is very professional and I appreciated knowing that was an option- but really- we had to go to the store for other things anyway and it wasn't a big enough deal or pain point for us to call property mgmt. Dishwashers, washer/dryer, microwaves, bathrooms, showers, and stove in back cottage were used and all worked great. We did not use the stove in the front cottage so I can't speak to that. One other thing we had to buy was our own HDMI cable. There are 2 TV's but one was missing a cable. Overall, this was a fabulous find and a trip we will all keep as a very special memory together. I would definitely consider staying here again next year.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Becky, thanks you for this wonderful review, and congratulations on having our daughter back safely after her deployment.  We are honored that you chose Pearl Beach Quarters for your celebration.  We hope you come back again.

Place was exactly as described and the lake is absolutely beautiful, would love to make a return trip someday.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Kyle, there is no better review than when a guest says they want to come back, so thank you for that!  Turk Lake is a lovely lake and hopefully you were able to explore it with the 2 kayaks ready for guests to use.

Beautiful houses and property
The houses were perfect for our families - there were nine of us and there was more than enough room. The lake is nice and shallow and the boats and dock provided tons of entertainment for the kids. Wood was provided, an issue with the toilet was quickly resolved and an owner did come by twice to check on us and offer more fire wood. Essentials were provided - toilet paper, paper towels, fire wood, charcoal, plates, pots, utensils, coffee filters. We did bring these as well just in case. There were flash lights and pool noodles for the kids as well. Washer and dryer are provided in both houses and laundry soap (in front cottage) for starting loads of towels before checking out. Beds were comfy and the space itself was very home-y. Make sure to abide by posted rules - we brought our dog (golden retriever) and the one time he was off his leash it was reported because he things everybody is his best friend. Please keep in mind this is a community and dogs do live here and they are not required to keep their dogs on a leash so this is also for your own dogs protection. The only downfalls were the neighbor had visitors who did not know the rules and splashed us as we were relaxing on floats in the lake and the sensor light shines all night into the area where the fire pit and back sun room are. Overall we loved the experience. We would recommend to our friends, but not with dogs.

Freshwater Vacation Rentals Response
Danielle, we are so glad that Pearl Beach Quarters worked out so well for your large group.  Kid friendly swimming, a private swimming dock, a private fishing dock, 2 kayaks - how much better could it get!  We are sorry about the issues with the neighbor and your pup  Goldens do love everyone and think everyone loves them!  We will speak with the neighbors about the splashing, and thanks for the heads up about the sensor.  We do hope that you come back again

Just what we needed!
The cabins on the property were clean and just as described. We had 4 adults and 8 kids and it worked great for us! The lake was super kid friendly just beautiful to wake up to. I would highly recommend staying here and my kids want to know when we’re going back:) Thank you!

We are so glad that your stay at Pearl Beach Quarters was just what you needed, and we think you should listen to your kids and come back!  It is on a quiet, family-friendly lake area, with The Links at Bowen Lake just a few miles away.  Come and enjoy the sunsets.

Nice, quiet lake
The front and back house set up was perfect, as the grandparents were able to have some alone time and we were able to put the little kids down early in the back house. The shallow lake was perfect for our toddlers and the water was warm. The neighbors are very close by, but it was quiet in the evenings. We were able to contact someone in the office for a few issues and these were resolved promptly. Overall, our family had a great time.

Adrienne, we are so happy that Pearl Beach Quarters worked out so well for your extended family.  Having the 2 living spaces is great for situations like yours.  If you like to golf, you are near to The Links at Bowen Lake.  Otherwise swimming and hiking can make for a fabulous day.  We hope to see you again soon.

Had a great time!
Our mine 3 day vacation was a much needed get away for my family. We loved that we could fish, swim, and kayak right in front of our cottage. Cottages were well stocked with everything we needed. Had an issue with trash pick up and had to call to get a trash can brought over, but staff was very quick at dealing with any issues. I highly recommend taco Tuesday at Turk Lake restaurant. Getting in and out of the water is 4 steps in need of repair and was a bit of a challenge for me as I walk with a cane. Other than that we all had a great time. Loved the kayaks too

Jane, we are thrilled that your family had such a  good time at Pearl Beach Quarters.  It's a wonderful place for rest and relaxation! Swimming, golf and hiking - whatever meets your fancy is right there for you to do.  We'll let the owners know about the steps.  We hope to see you again soon.

Beautiful Place - Comfy
We love the two different houses. We stayed in one and had our friends in the other. It was perfect. Time together without being right on top of each other. It was extremely comfortable and easy to settle in. The three season porch was our gathering place. We have booked again with friends in June of 2019. Plan to make this a yearly place to visit.

Cindy, we are so happy that Pearl Beach Quarters worked out so well for you and your friends.  Sandy bottomed Turk Lake, along with the private swimming raft and fishing dock makes for a great vacation property.  We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Perfect low key family get away
The place was perfect. Kids stayed up the hill and we stayed down. Hung out on the screened porch, dock, and float all week. Everything was exactly what we needed and nothing more. Management was super responsive to any messages and questions.

We are happy that we could be a part of making your family vacation a  success!  It sounds like you all made relaxing your priority, which is exactly how it should be.

Beautiful lakefront cottages
The cottages on Turk Lake were beautiful and comfortable. The accommodations were absolutely perfect for our larger group. I was impressed by everything, from the private dock to the individual kitchen in both cottages. We stayed for two nights and had everything we needed. I appreciated the serenity of the surroundings, the private washer and dryer, and the gorgeous sun porch overlooking the lake. I only wish we had more time there! We will be back for sure!

Hi Sarah,
We are thrilled that you appreciated Pearl Beach Quarters as much as you did.  We love that view of Turk Lake.  Did you get any kayaking in?  In the evening, sitting by the fire pit making smores is the perfect end to a lovely day!  We do hope to see you again soon.
