Reviews

Great weekend getaway!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time! It was exactly what we wanted. The house is cozy and in a great location/distance from the lake and hiking trails. Our only complaints are the hornet's nests all along the back deck and the broken toilet seat that kept falling apart.

FVR RESPONSE
Justyna, we are  glad that overall you enjoyed staying at Nelson's Nest.  When you work with us in the future, know that had you called about the nest and the toilet seat, we would have had someone come out to take care of both issues.  Our guest comfort is our #1 priority.  Pet friendly, with over 10 waterfalls nearby, this is a great property to vacation at.  We look forward to working with you again!

Clean & Comfortable
The bed in the Master bedroom was very comfortable. The towels in the bathroom were fluffy and plentiful. The Kitchen had all the cooking pot, pans, dishes, and amenities needed. The house is not new but worked great for us. Very good internet connection, Netflix, and more. Loved the quiet at night in this neighborhood. Very Clean!

FVR RESPONSE

Home away from home
The house has everything you need and a few you don't. Things you need nice beds good assortment of dishes and cookware, things that you need and don't need, depending on the time of year, bicycles let's see it's winter don't need, snowshoes there are snow drifts over six feet just might need these it's winter. We really liked are stay easy access to the snowmobile trails and shopping is close enough. We will probably be back next year.

If you are traveling to this area, I would assume you already know that there is a lot of snow here in the winter. Well, it's even more than you can imagine! This home is in a great location with access to main roads and back roads to get you wherever you need to go. When we stayed, most of our events were in Ironwood MI with a few trips to Hurley WI. The farthest location that we traveled to was less than 15 minutes from this house. We couldn't have picked a better location if we had tried. Some of our places included Breakwater and the Smoking Gun and if you have time to enjoy with friends you have to check out Cold Iron. This home is so easy to find, although maps will only take you to the road, not the exact address. You can easily spot the house, even when it is buried in the snow! Next time we have to travel to see our friends in Ironwood, we will check on this rental first!

Maggie, what a great review!  You are right, Mother Nature certainly has been generous with her snow in the UP this year.  We are glad that it did not stop you from your stay at Nelson's Nest.  It is in a neighborhood and sleeps 6-7, plus it's dog friendly!  We'd love to have you back again.

Awesome Location for ATV/Snowmobling
My husband and I stayed here a few times this last year. We are avid snowmobilers and this location was perfect. You are about a 1/2 mile away from the trail with very easy access to get to the trail. The trails were in great condition being in the Snowbelt line. I am not a skier, but the Ski Resorts are very close by. When there is not snow, the waterfalls are amazing! You only have to drive about 15 minutes and then they are one after another all about 1-5 miles apart. The views are breathtaking. For the home itself. It is nestled on a quiet country road. The amenities are just what a person needs. Beds, TV's, Internet, Cable, Bathroom with supplies, Fridge, Stove, Microwave and Coffee Pot to name a few. And if you do forget to pack something or would like to do your grocery shopping when you get there, Walmart is about 5 min away. The house also has a covered patio off the back along with a fire pit in the backyard. I will be staying her again when I come to the U.P.
