Calling all active couples, families, and groups…this one’s for you! With multiple downhill skiing options, 14 nearby waterfall stops and Lake Superior only 25 minutes away, you will have just enough energy to walk in the cabin and lay your head down.

This 3 bedroom home, where 6-7 people can sleep comfortably, is located in a neighborhood environment within the small town of Bessemer.  There is a nice wooded-area surrounding the home. Having 4 twin beds lends itself to a guys/gals getaway or a larger family with little ones. Enjoy the private backyard (yes, there are neighbors with children on the other side of the fence), simple fire pit area, patio with chairs, and wildlife crossing the scene. Whether you are a winter warrior or a summer adventurer, Nelson Nest is a great jumping-off point for you!
 
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Air Conditioning: No air condition in home, however, there are 2 ceiling fans and a couple of portable fans.
 
ATV's: YES! You are able to use the trails nearby, just please do not drive on the lot.

Animals: Deer, squirrel, variety of birds, bear nearby.

Basement: Yes, unfinished


Bathroom: Main floor with shower.

Beach/Swimming: Lake Superior is 25 minutes North which hosts many public beaches. Black River Harbor area is great for swimming with sandy beaches. Be sure to stop along the way at a few waterfalls that you’ll see!

    Bedroom #1: Master -main floor Queen Bed
    Bedroom #2: Upstairs with 2 Twin beds
    Bedroom #3: Upstairs with 2 Twin beds
    Trundle Bed is available as well in common area which sleeps 2

Bicycles:  There are 2 bicycles at the cabin for your use (please bring your own helmet)

              * Duluth, MN: 2 hours and 15 minutes (114 miles)
              * Marquette: 2 hours and 26 minutes ( 139 miles)
              * Porcupine Mountains: 1 hour ( 56 miles)
              * Green Bay: 3 hours and 42 minutes (316 miles)               
              * Mackinac Bridge: 5 hours and 21 minutes away (306 miles)

Fireplace: Not inside the home.

Fire-pit: YES, bring your s’mores.

Fishing: Sunday Lake and Giles Flowage are about 15 minutes away. Gogebic Lake is 40-minutes away (which is a huge inland lake). Use the gazetteer to find the gems.

Fishing poles: Please bring your own

Grill: Charcoal grill w/charcoal provided!

Grocery Store: 5 minutes from Walmart or Super One Foods—Ironwood

Internet:  Strong internet!

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I’ll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels.

Lawn Games: Bocce Ball!

Parking: Can fit 2 vehicles side by side with a trailer.

Pets: Dogs are welcome! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $50/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on.  Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we’ll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.

Privacy:  Neighbors on both sides.

Snowmobiles: YES! Iron-Belle Trails are close and long! Please check out both the pedestrian trails (cross-country skiing) next to the motorized trails.

Skiing: Big Powder Horn – 5 minutes away
              Black Jack – 10 minutes away
              Indian Head – 12 minutes away
              Wolverine Recreation Area  (Gogebic Community College) –
                               Family Tube Sledding and tow-rope – 8 minutes
              White Cap – 15 minutes away             
              Porcupine Mountains – State Park area…hour away

Snowshoes:  There are 2 pair available at the cabin for your use
             
Space: Ground floor and upper level

Televisions: 2 Smart TVs with live streaming. Cable is also available on both tv’s.

Tours: Stormy Kromer Factory Tour—hats (red and black flap hats) with a store

Towels: Yes, we provide towels.  It's always good to bring extra though.

Washer and dryer: Yes! It is located on the main floor in the bathroom. Laundry soap is provided.

Wood: Enjoy the free wood.
