Enjoy this classic, completely remodeled, A-frame cabin located just outside of Kalkaska on a wooded lot. The cabin is only a short walk to swimming, fishing, and boating on Manistee Lake. The lake is relatively shallow (around 20 feet at its deepest point) making it especially great for small kids and those who want to wade in the water. The cabin is partially secluded, having only neighbors on one side and woods surrounding. Enjoy the amazing view through the large picture wall. In addition, the kaleidoscope of wood colors inside the home and knotty-pine walls makes this cabin a great find for small families, couples, or small groups of friends. Although there is more privacy than in many cottage areas, this is not a place for events or loud groups. We adhere to a good neighbor policy both at the home and at the swimming area.

Appreciate the fully equipped kitchen, living room, master bedroom and bathroom on the main floor. The picture wall will lead you outside to a 8’ x 20’ patio area equipped with a grill, chairs and a table. Grab a kayak or two, which are provided for you during your stay, and head out to the center of lake to fish!

We stayed at this adorable little cabin last weekend and had a great time! We have a group of girls that try to get together every summer, and this was the perfect spot to play cards, drink wine and spend time kayaking and swimming in the warm lake! We found everything we needed in the kitchen and took advantage of the deck outside. It was VERY clean and offered up some fun board games that we used as well. Would definitely stay again!

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Amy! It's a delight to know you found the home to be very clean, but also ideal for providing your group with an enjoyable girls trip! Hopefully we will get a chance to host you all for a future getaway!

Quiet Get Away
The cabin was super clean and well maintained. The back deck was a delightful place to relax and enjoy nature and time-of-day appropriate beverage :-) Weather did not allow us to enjoy the water access - we walked down and can see the potential in warmer weather. Very Cozy. Only complaints would be the bed was a little firm for our taste - curtains across the back wall of windows would have been nice.

FVR RESPONSE
Jennifer, sitting on the deck with time-of-day appropriate beverages sounds pretty fabulous.  We're glad that you had that opportunity to enjoy it.  We'll let the owner know your thoughts about the bed and curtains and hope that you come back again.

Perfect
The cabin was just as advertised. Very clean. Renovations appear to be very recent and well done - inside and out. The location was perfect for us. During our four days and five nights, we spent one day at the cabin, one visiting Mackinac Island, one visiting Traverse City and one visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes Park.

FVR RESPONSE

Steven, you really got around while on vacation!  We're glad that MichiganAFrame  worked so well for your base camp.  We hope that you come back again.

Very pleased
Adorable, clean, and well-appointed. Hated to leave. The only note would be if anyone in your party has issues with descending stairs, the ones to the upstairs room are quite steep.

FVR RESPONSE
Jennifer, we love knowing that you hated to leave!  You simply need to come back again.  We enjoyed hosting you, and would love to work with you again

We loved our stay! Perfect little cabin for our family of four, and the lake was the perfect depth and temperature for our children (ages 8 and 5) to swim and learn to kayak. Also, since we stayed during the week, it wasn't crowded at all, so we were able to safely social distance. Thank you for providing the kayaks and life jackets, as well as plenty of equipment for simple, wholesome meals. A visit to the Cherry Street Market is a must if you stay here! And quick easy drive up to Traverse and Sleeping Bear. We hope to be back soon!

FVR RESPONSE
Melissa, it sounds like your family had great fun!  We look forward to your return.

A Truly Wonderful Experience
I took my partner here to get away from the city. We knew we wanted a place with plenty of trees and this one looked amazing. It was so much more than we expected. If you are looking for a secluded, quiet place surrounded by nature with the water just a shirt walk away PLUS kayaks as a bonus, this is your place. Nights get really dark, the lake is beautiful and even the rain is just absolutely beautiful out there. All in all the perfect getaway for a couple to just escape for a while.

FVR RESPONSE

“What a BEAUTIFUL space! This mid-century modern a-frame is what my cabin dreams are made of. It's in a lovely, wooded area (I was lucky enough to visit during peak fall colors) and near a lake where you can kayak (kayaks provided). The inside was clean, modern, hip - I don't have a single negative thing to say about it. I hope to visit again some day, and I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!”

Amazing
Loved the cottage. It is beautifully designed and decorated. Felt like we were at home with all the essentials available. Kids loved their loft room. Cottage is centrally located to all the area attractions which instead of staying at hotels, we did day trips to Traverse City, Mackinac Bridge, Petoskey, Charlevoix and Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. Two thumbs up!
