LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION....Only 30 minutes from the Mackinac Bridge, the Merry Mullett Lake House is an old school family cottage.  It's not fancy. It's not luxury. The summer price is based on its location and the deep, premier all-sports lake a part of northeast Michigan's Inland Waterway. At this old-school cottage, you will have access to a 60 foot private dock just outside your back door.

Inside, Merry Mullett has slanted floors, which some claim feel like the Mystery Spot.  It is not ideal for people with vertigo or any balance concerns. It is NOT handicap accessible.

Located on popular Mullett Lake, this home sleeps 6, having 3 bedrooms and 1 ½ bathrooms. With picnic table, 2 deck areas, lawn chairs, and a gorgeous view, guests will enjoy their time relaxing and resting after a long day of fishing, boating, and swimming. The propane grill on the property will also speed dinner along, while the dogs and kids play in an open area. A private 60 ft. dock also accompanies the property.  PLEASE DO NOT MOOR YOUR BOAT ON THE DOCK, THERE ARE BUOYS PLACED BY THE DOCK TO TIE OFF YOUR BOAT. However, the dock can be used for short periods of time, going to the bathroom, stopping to pick up lunch, to fish, etc...

Rails to Trails (take a look) is within steps of the property; feel free to bring your bikes or walk the trails! This cabin is right off M-27, and while the majority of guests don't hear the traffic, we want to be sure you are aware that the state highway is nearby.  Cheboygan, just 8 miles away, is a quaint city, with many historic sites. Golfers will enjoy the courses just a few miles from the property, and hunters will appreciate the populated gaming areas nearby.

Reviews

Great setting on the water. Had everything we needed indoors. Wonderful communication from the management company. The only negative would be the beds that are in dire need of being replaced. Otherwise it was a 5 of 5.

Quaint Cabin
The cabin was very cute and had lots of room for its size. Our stay was quite comfortable. We did have a boat - that has its own challenges as mooring and parking are challenging - as was specified in the ad. Small boats are best. Don't bring anything over 19'. Ingenuity goes a long way and we had a perfect stay! Lake is wonderful! Loved it!!!

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:
Geralyn, we are so happy that you had fun at Merry Mullett Lake House, and we're glad that you figured out the boat issue.   Swimming, hiking and biking are right there for your pleasure, plus you are only 30 minutes from Mackinac Bridge.  Perfection!

Relaxing Stay on Mullet Lake
We stayed at this cute lake house in August. The house is conveniently located with a walking path and small village nearby. We were able to launch our boat at the boat launch not far from the house. There is a convenient buoy in front of the house so we were able to leave the boat in for our stay. The cottage has lots of windows which open to create a wonderful breeze throughout the house. Even though the temperatures were in the 90's, the house remained comfortable. We had a great time and had plenty of room for 4.

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:

Brenda, thank you for this wonderful review.  We also love Merry Mullett Lake House.  It's wonderful to swim right in front of the cottage, plus its proximity to Mackinac Bridge and Island simply adds to its charm.

Charming cottage, Beautiful Lake View
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this lake house. The cottage has a very charming, quaint, vintage, Lost in Time vibe. We had no problems with having no air-conditioning—the lake breeze kept us very comfortable in mid-July, and we often opened all the lake-facing windows on the first floor. The large deck was fantastic for our large family gatherings. Several neighbors where exceptially friendly and welcomed us to the neighborhood while we were there. There is a bike path right outside the driveway that runs either way along the lake. It might be helpful to note if you are terrified of bugs, try not to come during the couple weeks that the mayflies are around. As with any lake property, they can be pretty numerous. I grew up near a Lake so it wouldn’t have bothered me, but the mayflies had already passed when we stayed.

FRESHWATER RESPONSE:

Thomas, we are so happy that you liked Merry Mullett Lake House as much as you did.    Friendly neighbors are always a welcome addition to any cottage experience.  And, yes, sometimes mother nature does like to add her own guests, which are not always as welcome.  We do hope to work with you again!
