Reviews

The Felker Cottage was just the best! It was warm, cozy, and welcoming. The house was fully equipped with all you would need- even flour and sugar for the banana bread I made. I will return here if the opportunity presents itself!

This has been a beautiful place to stay. Lots of supplies in the kitchen, plenty of towels and room for way more people to sleep than we would ever have. We cooked, laughed, conversed, and caught up with family. The fireplace is beautiful, and we had a fire each evening. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your cottage!

This cottage had everything we needed for cooking! And the bed in the downstairs master bedroom was especially fun as each child took a turn sleeping in it. The paddle boat was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed out third annual family trip at Felkers Cottage!

Felkners cottage
Had a great time. Cottage was very comfortable and the paddleboat was great. The only thing I would change is the lockbox, as the numbers were hard to read

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Kathryn, and thank you for your feedback regarding the lockbox. I've updated our maintenance team, so we can work on improving that inconvenience. As a whole, we are very happy to know you found the cottage to be comfortable, and able to provide you with an enjoyable stay! Hopefully we will have a chance to host you again in the future!

Fun Family Weekend
Traveled to the Petoskey area for a soccer tournament and decided to bring the whole family, including our dog. Cottage had a wonderful view and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Kids really had fun playing on the lake in the paddle boat and kayak. Would definitely recommend to others.

FVR RESPONSE:

Beautiful hidden gem
We relaxed, the out of towners went to the Island with cousin Jesse. Had friends from Mio visit. While at the cabin, Jacob (11yo) spent every waking minute at the lake trying to catch a fish. The neighbors were very friendly and we are from the same area. Great place, love the decor- fish pic in upstairs bath is my fav. Already planning another visit, this visit is a beautiful hidden gem. Our favorite moments were just visiting with family, bonfire time is always a great time to talk, and getting to know my neighbors better

FVR RESPONSE:

Thank you Pamela for taking the time share your review of our Felker's Cottage! The fact that everyone from all over got to meet up and enjoy the time in the area is so wonderful, especially getting to bond a bit with the neighbors! We hope we get a chance to host you again!

Great fishing that was exciting for kids and adults!
We fished lots! Kept 91 fish! We hiked some trails at The Hills Nature Preserve (great option for short loops for kids or you can do longer), did some paddle boating and kayaking, swimming here and at the boat launch, went to Fisherman's Island, and enjoyed a bonfire! The fishing was really fun! We always caught something which makes it especially exciting for the kids (and really us too)! We fried up our fish, made lots of rainbow loom creations and did some coloring! Saw a mama bird and three baby birds in the tree by the water. The place is really well stocked for cooking and baking, and really anything else! The owner was super responsive, helpful and a great guy! He was on top of everything- even down to the light bulbs -- he was ready to fix right away! Thank you for the great memories that your home provided us! The kids don't want to leave! Thank you so much!!

FVR RESPONSE:

We are delighted to know everyone enjoyed their stay, and had great success with fishing in the area! The owner has truly made it a point to make the home a good experience for guests staying, so we are happy to know your interactions only added to the stay! We hope to have you back!

The feel of a traditional lake cottage
Favorite moments included: Sitting on the porch in the morning gazing at the lake and scenery while having coffee. The same ritual took place most evenings in anticipation of a spectacular sunset, also crossing the bridge during a thunderstorm. Thank you for sharing your cottage. We enjoyed the modern touches including the new stove and the easy to open windows. We also appreciated the traditional feel of a lake cottage furnished with a few heirlooms. This is certainly a unique haven "up north." Again, thank you for sharing it with us Hoosiers. PS, The place was so clean.

FVR RESPONSE:
We are thrilled you enjoyed your time "up north" We are so happy to be able to share our space with great people like you! We hope to see you again in the future!
